When most people think of South Dakota, an image of Mount Rushmore pops into their head. And although this national monument has helped make South Dakota one of the top destinations in the country, there’s much more to South Dakota than those four big faces. There’s the breathtaking Badlands, the gargantuan Crazy Horse Memorial, historic Deadwood, majestic Jewel Cave, the list goes on and on. But many travelers may not understand the breadth of experiences one can have in the state unless they actually visit…until now.

Last month, we launched a completely revamped (and responsive) By utilizing a content-first approach, we took the awe-inspiring power and beauty of the state and transformed it into an immersive online experience. The new South Dakota site is filled with experiential content—including Along for the Ride documentary-style films, immersive road journals, repurposed South Dakota Magazine stories, engaging photo essays and an entire section titled The Great 8.

In addition to its editorial content “takeover”, the site is complemented with “what’s nearby” maps, user-friendly related content, My List functionality, TripAdvisor ratings, and social media implementation.
